The Lion Ballroom is a magnificent Georgian building that was built in 1843 as an Assembly Room, for the Red Lion Hotel. It has all the glamour and history you can imagine with modern facilities close by, for your unique event.

It is a stunning venue for wedding receptions, concerts, balls, birthdays and family reunions. You can hire the venue and create your own special memories.

The Lion Ballroom is situated off Broad Street under the arch in Lion Yard. As you enter there is a large foyer with toilets, a kitchen, a lift and staircase leading off this focal point. On the first floor are the large grand doors to the ballroom. As you open these doors you will see the two impressive sparkling crystal chandeliers and the ornate decorative plaster work ceiling supported by grand Corinthian columns. The large sash windows allow the light to stream in, lighting up the oak floorboards and grand piano.

The building has Wi-Fi and a catering kitchen. There is a car park which is available on request.

The venue offers an intimate space, that is perfect to have family social gatherings in a stunning venue accessible to everyone, in the heart of Leominster. You can organise your whole event or use our contacts to help you.

Come and view the beautiful ballroom which will seat up to 100 guests. If the venue is too large, please call us to view our smaller venue which offers similar facilities on a smaller scale near by. It is ideal for 20-30 people.

Filming location

The Lion Ballroom has appeared on television many times. Recently it has featured in Great Railway Journeys. Highlighting how the arrival of the railways led to the demise of the coaching industry. It has also been a regular on popular antique shows such as Bargain Hunt, Antique road trip and Celebrity antique road trip.
